Installtion d’ombres monumentales à l’encre de Chine sur papier canson 210g (parfois contrecollé sur adhésif tissé noir).
Nombre et dimensions variables selon le lieu d’installation des ombres.

Installation of monumental shadows made in Indian ink on paper 210g (sometimes with black fabric adhesive tape on the back).
Various number of shadows and sizes depending on the installation place.


GENÈSE DU PROJET : Quel que soit notre âge, une séparation c’est se confronter à ses peurs, aux ombres de notre passé et à l’incertitude de notre avenir… et l’on se retrouve comme un enfant observant le monde, sans oser y entrer… sans savoir comment… amnésique des codes de notre société… « ballot »… étranger…
Ce projet tente de faire revivre cette impression au spectateur en le plaçant physiquement au centre d’ombres géantes.

RÉALISATION : Les ombres partent toutes de modèles vivants. Une silhouette est dessinée, puis découpée pour obtenir une matrice qui permettra de créer une ombre plus ou moins déformée. Les proportions entre les différents corps sont conservées. Un jeu d’échelle s’instaure selon le lieu d’installation des ombres.
Chaque modèle étant conçu à partir d’un individu propre, chaque ombre a une identification précise, un « nom » commençant toujours par le X de l’inconnu, tel le secret renfermé dans chacune de ces formes.


GENESIS OF THE PROJECT : Regardless of our age, a seperation always confront us to our fears, to the shadows from our past and to the uncertainty of future… and we suddently become a child again, watching the world, without daring to go in… not knowing how… amnesic of the codes of our socity… « foolish »… stranger… 
The installation « Ombres de nos amours » tries to make the viewer experience that feeling again, putting him physically in the middle of monumental shadows.

CREATION PROCESS : All the shadows come from live models. A silhouette is drawn, and then cut around to obtain a matrix that will be used to create a shadow distorted to a greater or lesser degree. The proportions between the different bodies of the models are strictely respected. A proportional scale is established depending on the place where the shadows are exhibited.  Because each matrix comes from a real person, each shadow has a precise identification, a « name » always starting by the letter X, letter of the unknown, as the secrets kept in the heart of each shadow.
