Pour cette performance une playlist de 24h a été conçue. Durant les 6h de la NUIT BLANCHE, la playlist fut diffusée, dans le casque de la performeuse, de manière aléatoire, et ce afin de conserver une spontanéïté dans les mouvements. GENÈSE DU PROJET : Juin 2024 sur les routes de Sardaigne, la musique se diffuse dans l’habitacle de la voiture tandis que les paysages défilent en ces derniers jours de vacances paradisiaques hors du temps... Bientôt le retour au quotidien et aux actualités d’un monde qui chaque jour semble s’effondrer de part et d’autre. Et soudain une envie : danser ! Ou plutôt, se défouler, expulser toute énergie négative qui gâcherait ce paysage de rêve... alors il devint ncessaire de concevoir une nouvelle performance. En septembre 2024 commençait les premiers tests d’une performance qui, selon moi, devait nécessairement être réaliser lors d’une Nuit Blanche.
Février 2025, je répondais à l’appel à candidature de la ville de Charleville-Mézières pour sa Nuit Blanche. Juin 2025, mon projet était sélectionné.Octobre 2025, enfin... le temps du lâcher-prise était arrivé.GENESIS OF THE PROJECT : June 2024. Sardinia. Music fills the car as the landscape drifts by, in the last days of timeless, dreamlike holiday… Soon comes the return to everyday life, and to the news of a world that seems to crumble a little more each day. Then, a sudden urge to dance arises! Or rather, to let go, to shake off the weight, to release all the dark energy that might stain this idyllic scenery… It then became necessary to conceive a new performance.September 2024, the first trials begin for a performance that, I feel, could only come alive during a Nuit Blanche.February 2025. I answer the city of Charleville-Mézières’ call for projects its Nuit Blanche.June 2025. My project is selected.October 2025. Finally… the time to let go.

Certains des milliers de visages croisés au long de notre vie nous marquent et nous obsèdent, par leur beauté ou le tragique d’une situation… par leur puissance, par leur faiblesse. Les photographies de Pierre Jouve révélaient des scènes. En tant que peintre il tente désormais de révéler des âmes… celles de ces inconnues… sa mère… le temps qui passe…Pour cette performance, Émilie Girault reprend le thème de la boîte à musique, développé plusieurs fois déjà, notamment en 2015 dans son film “Wyrd”. Son mécanisme, activable à l’infini, est un symbole du temps et du cycle de la vie, mais aussi, de la mémoire et des souvenirs. Dans les mains de la performeuse, une boîte à musique tend à emporter le regardeur vers l’enfance, tandis que des cuissardes à talons hauts renvoient à l’émancipation de la femme, et les cheveux enroulés autour de bigoudis à la vieillesse… Mille vies dans une vie. La question de la création artistique est également centrale, les sensations attachées au passé devenant matière première du travail de l’artiste. Ainsi la performeuse vêtue de blanc devient toile, tandis que défilent, projetés sur elle, 32 visages issus des oeuvres de Pierre Jouve exposées dans « Humains-humains ». Mille vies croisées en une vie.Et durant les 180 minutes de cette performance, les notes d’une ancienne boîte à musique, parfois en désaccord, parfois ralenties ou inversées, exhortent le va-et-vient des souvenirs du regardeur.

	GENÈSE DU PROJET :“Je me souviens que, dans les années 80/90, ce bateau pneumatique servait à acheminer jusqu’à la plage tout notre barda de vacanciers. Je me souviens de mon frère avec lequel j’embarquais pour d’extraordinaires aventures sur la mer Méditerranée. Je me souviens de nos batailles navales et de nos luttes acharnées, de ma peur du grand requin blanc que les films de l’époque avaient immortalisé, et de mon profond désir de ne pas chavirer… et soudain je me retrouvais sous l’eau, le bateau retourné par mon frère se gaussant gentiment… je me souviens nos rires et nos disputes, le goût de l’eau salée, l’ardeur du soleil, le sable brûlant... puis la paix retrouvée, chacun une glace à la main, contemplant, allongés dans le bateau désormais accosté, l’incroyable scintillement de cette mer symbole de nos vacances d’été.
Et soudain 2016 et son lot de conseils, questions, explications provenant d’une ribambelle de quasi inconnus : "vous étiez procheS?"; "que s’est-il passé?"; "peut-être qu’il se droguait, on ne connaît jamais vraiment une personne tu sais"; "ça va?"; "vous étiez procheS?"; "ça va?"; "c’est dommage ça commençait à bien marcher pour toi"; "que s’est-il passé?"; "vous étiez procheS?"; "ça va?"; "ça va mieux?"; "tu sais j’ai lu que le deuil ça dure 3 ans, alors tu n’as juste qu’à serrer les dents et après ça ira mieux…"
Mais ce n’est pas une question de temps,c’est une question de manque…et de cet inaltérable sentiment de solitude.”

I remember that, in the 80s and 90s, this inflatable boat was used to carry all our holiday gear to the beach. I remember my brother with whom I used to embark on extraordinary adventures on the Mediterranean Sea. I remember our naval battles and our fierce fights, my fear of the great white shark that the films of the time had immortalized, and my deep desire not to capsize... and suddenly I found myself underwater, the boat turned over by my brother laughing gently... I remember our laughter and our arguments, the taste of the salt water, the heat of the sun, the burning sand. ... and then the peace we found, each of us with an ice cream in our hand, contemplating, lying in the boat now docked, the incredible sparkle of this sea symbol of our summer vacations.And suddenly 2016 and its batch of advices, questions, explanations coming from a bunch of almost strangers: "you were close?"; "what happened?"; "maybe he was on drugs, you never really know a person you know"; "are you ok?"; "you were close? "it's a shame it was starting to work out well for you"; "what happened?"; "you were close?"; "are you ok?"; "do you feel better?"; "you know I read that mourning lasts for 3 years, so you just have to grit your teeth and then it will get better..."But it is not a question of time, it is a question of lack... and that unalterable feeling of loneliness.

La performance "THE RISE OF POWER” questionne les notions de féminité, de sexualité et de pouvoir.
Des déesses antiques aux femmes-objets, du culte de la lolita au girl power et à la revendication de son indépendance via le sexy, à quel point la féminité répond-elle encore et toujours à des diktats sociétaux ?Les pieds bandelés emprisonnés dans une chaussure-bijou, habillée d’une longue chevelure blonde factice, l’apparente puissance de la performeuse vacille inexorablement, le corps traduisant une fébrilité grandissante.
The performance "THE RISE OF POWER" questions notions of femininity, sexuality and power.From ancient goddesses to female objects, from the cult of the lolita to girl power and the claim of her independence via the sexy, to what extent does femininity still and always respond to societal diktats?The bandaged feet trapped in a jewellery shoe, dressed in long fake blonde hair, the apparent power of the performer wavers inexorably, the body reflecting a growing feverishness.

GENÈSE DU PROJET : Fin 2018 paraissait le rapport «Planète Vivante» de la WWF : entre 1970 et 2016, les populations d’animaux vertébrés ont subi une baisse de 60 % au niveau mondial.Depuis l’Antiquité, l’homme est fasciné par les animaux sauvages et exotiques. Il tente de les apprivoiser ou les donne en spectacle (des amphithéâtres antiques jusqu’aux parcs zoologiques), hypnotisé par la beauté de certaines espèces, effrayé par la force et le danger d’autres.Dans diverses traditions folkloriques, les femmes-oiseaux sont des créatures prophétiques avec une place spirituelle significative, se situant entre le monde de la vie et celui de la mort.Le projet The Bird Show, since 2048 joue sur ces constats et interroge sur le devenir de notre société de divertissement si l’extinction animale continue à ce rythme : COMMENT TRANSMETTRE AUX GÉNÉRATIONS FUTURES LA BEAUTÉ DE CE QU'ÉTAIT LA FAUNE EXOTIQUE ?"En 2048, les humains commencent eux aussi à se mettre en cage, dans une posture nostalgique et poétique, tentant de faire revivre la beauté d’antan"… C’est à partir de cette vision post-apocalyptique d’une société future riche de toutes les civilisations passées, qu’est né ce projet.

2018 a WWF report indicated that from 1970 to 2016, the world population of vertebrate
animals declined by 60%. Since antiquity, humans are fascinated by wildlife,
hypnotised by its beauty &#38;amp; strenght, taming and showing animals for
entertainment. THE BIRD SHOW questions the impact of the extinction of animal
species : how will we explain future generations the beauty of the
disappeared exotic wildlife&#38;nbsp;? "In 2048, humans start to place themselves
into cages, a nostalgic &#38;amp; poetic choice to revive the lost beauty"… It’s
from this post-apocalyptic vision that THE BIRD SHOW is born. The bird-woman
figure is used, as in folkloric traditions, as a prophetic goddess between the
world of the living and the dead, her costume inspired by past civilisations to
represent our multicultural future.

GENÈSE DU PROJETDans son exposition Pierre Jouve écrit : "En 1933, mon père abandonne une actrice berlinoise juive pour ma mère. Mon père traîna jusqu'à sa mort, en 1991, le remord profond de ne pas s'être inquiété du devenir de cette jeune femme"...Qu'est devenue cette actrice? A-t-elle survécu, a-t-elle été déportée, détenue, tuée ? Et avant même la grande histoire, a-t-elle souffert de cette séparation, espérait-elle le revoir, pensait-elle souvent à lui ou s'était-elle consolée dans les bras d'un autre homme? Dans ses oeuvres, Pierre Jouve imagine les possibles réponses à ces questions, spéculant sur l'identité de cette amante et son devenir.Pendant le Festival d'Aurillac, il s'agit de faire revivre cette femme, Sonia, au sortir de cette fameuse séparation, imaginant une situation poétique et romantique contrastant avec la violence de ce que deviendra le monde à partir de 1939. Éperdument amoureuse, l'actrice attend le retour de son amour, elle relit ses lettres, tente d'en écrire une qui le retienne, le cherche parmi le public du festival et les visiteurs de l'exposition, se remaquille dès qu'elle croit l'apercevoir, attend, rêve, désespère, puis se maquille de nouveau pleine d'espoir.La loge de l’actrice (une banquette, une coiffeuse, des lettres, la corbeille de fruits et le bouquet de fleurs d’un admirateur) devient peu à peu sa prison, l’enfermement un poids... le temps passe et les fleurs se fanent, les fruits perdent de leur fraîcheur, tout comme notre actrice dont le maquillage tourne petit à petit au grotesque._______________Oeuvres liées :

INHERE WITH ME n’est pas un film, c’est une présence. Elle n’a pas pour but d’être regardée, mais simplement d’être projetée chez soi, dans son intérieur, dans son intimité. Ce plan séquence de 24 h questionne sur le caractère "seul" inhérent à chaque être et sur la modification de son rapport à soi lorsque la présence d'un autre est ressentie à ses côtés.

INHERE WITH ME is not a movie, it is a presence. Its goal is not to be watched, but to be projected at home, in our intimacy. This 24h sequence-shot raises the question of the "alone" nature inherent in everyone and of the modification of our relationship with ourselves when we feel the presence of someone else by our side.


GENÈSE DU PROJETÀ l'origine, je souhaitais me filmer pendant 24h, seule, face caméra, afin d'offrir une présence réconfortante à un potentiel spectateur. Je m'imaginais en entité impeccable et inébranlable, l’œil vif, l'esprit toujours clair. Aucun meuble n'encombrerait l'espace filmé, aucun objet ne viendrait me détourner de ma mission: accompagner le spectateur de mon regard bienveillant.Seule face à une caméra pendant 24h... enfermée et sans aucune notion du temps... l'exercice s’avéra beaucoup plus éprouvant que prévu, l'impeccabilité éphémère, l'attention fugitive, les pensées défaitistes...Mais une fois l'enregistrement lancé, arrêter c'était pour moi comme abandonner cet autre que je m'étais créé et qui ne cessait de me regarder... Et ces 24h, je les lui avais secrètement promises...Ce film dure donc bien 24h.GENESIS OF THE PROJECTAt first, I wanted to record me during 24h, alone, facing a camera, in order to give a comforting presence to a potential viewer. I imagined myself perfect and unswerving, a lively expression, always clear minded. No furnitures, no objects would disturb me from my mission: to accompany the onlooker with my benevolent gaze.Alone facing a camera for 24h... locked up with no idea of time... the experience became harder than expected, the perfection ephemeral, the attention fleeting, the thoughts defeatist...But once the recording had started, to stop was like to abandon this other that I had created in myself and that kept looking at me... And those 24h, I had secretly promised them to him...So, as agreed, this movie lasts 24h.
